Chimie Pékin
The Franco-Chinese Institute Chimie Pékin (BUCT-Paris Curie Engineering School) is an engineering school that was set up in 2017 as a partnership between the Beijing University of Chemical Technology (BUCT) and a consortium of French graduate schools belonging to the Fédération Gay-Lussac (Chimie ParisTech – the consortium coordinator, CPE Lyon, ENSCL, ENSGTI Pau and Toulouse INP-ENSIACET).
The school offers a three-year preparatory programme run along the same lines as the integrated preparatory programmes of the Fédération Gay-Lussac, followed by a French-style graduate engineering course leading to dual qualification under both the Chinese and French systems. For the engineering part of the course, students choose to major in one of the following fields:
- Materials science
- Chemical engineering
- Bio-engineering
Around 30% of the science classes are taught in French, and some students are given the opportunity to do an exchange or internship in France. Engineering students from the FGL schools are also able to undertake academic exchanges (one or more semesters) in Beijing. A minimum level of English is required.
The management of the Institute is intrusted to Anouk Galtayries, Chimie ParisTech.
