Recap of the First Federation Gay-Lussac International Summer School
From June 22 to July 4, 2025, ENSCMu hosted the very first international Summer School organized by the Gay-Lussac Federation (FGL), focused on decarbonisation.
Over two weeks, 15 master’s and PhD students, accompanied by a faculty member from ECUST (Shanghai), gathered in Mulhouse to explore the major challenges of the energy transition in industry.
The program, entirely in English, combined lectures, workshops, and discussions with 18 academic and industrial experts from leading companies (Syensqo, Siemens, Suez, EDF, Michelin, ELAF, B+T Group…), as well as two factory visits, a cultural tour of Mulhouse, and several social events with local doctoral students.
The Summer School concluded on July 4 at the Auberge du Zoo, in the presence of the directors of French chemistry and chemical engineering schools, gathered in Mulhouse for the Federation Gay-Lussac General Assembly.
This first edition received very positive feedback from participants and partners alike, confirming the relevance of this new format, which combines scientific excellence, international exchange, and conviviality.
