ENSICAEN celebrates its 40th Birthday

ENSICAEN-logo-40ansIn 1976, the Ecole Nationale Supérieure d’Électronique et d’Électromécanique de Caen (ENSEEC) and the Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Chimie de Caen (ENSCC) merged to become the Institut des Sciences de la Matière et du Rayonnement (ISMRA), changing its name in 2002 to ENSICAEN . The establishment is recognised by its academic, institutional and professional partners for the quality of its teaching and the excellence of its research.

This anniversary is organised around several unifying events throughout the year,  which involve high points, bringing together all of the members of the establishment and its partners and moments dedicated to the public. The objectives are to get together, to discuss and to highlight ENSICAEN both locally and nationally as a Public Engineering School.
The first high point will take place on Wednesday 3 February 2016 at 5 pm with an opening seminar on « Molecular gastronomy » at the Caen theatre. This event is open to the public.
The Guest of Honour is Hervé This, a physical chemist who in 1988, created a new discipline, « Molecular Cooking » with the physicist Nicholas Kurti. Several cooking styles have grown out of this discipline such a « molecular cooking » and ‘note-for-note cooking » which uses pure compounds for creating the food.
