“Research and Innovation” business club launched by the BUCT-Paris Curie Engineering School (Chimie Pékin)

Chimie Pékin, the Franco-Chinese institute opened in 2017 in partnership with the Beijing University of Chemical Technology (BUCT), has set up a business club, called “Research and Innovation”. The event was held on Monday 13th January at the French Embassy in Beijing, and attended by Mrs Frédérique Vidal, French Minister of Higher Education, Research and Innovation.

At the launch, Anouk Galtayries, Co-Director (France) of Chimie-Pékin, signed letters of intent with Arkéma and TOTAL China, and Saint-Gobain and Solvay also joined the business club.

These four major players – Arkéma, TOTAL China, Saint-Gobain and Solvay – are thus the first members of the club, which is set to grow further. These special business partnerships are intended to benefit all of the parties involved. On the one hand, Chimie Pékin students will be able to undertake internships and potentially be recruited to join one of the companies, and on the other hand, the businesses will have access to a pool of talented, bicultural engineers, trained in China “the French way”.
